What I love: Chillin' with the fam when they come in to the city, Potbellies, and defending the husband's genius. When someone asked why he didn't leave a more permanent mark on the world, I fired back, "Doesn't experience leave a lasting impression, isn't that a mark?"
I made my kids watch this book called The Dot. I thought I taught this kid something special when he said, "I can make a dot." He proceeded to do many dots, then he connected them together to make yet another shark.
Sigh.
What I love: I love creativity in it's many forms and that not all dots are alike. A dot can really be very beautiful.
What I love: Hanging out with people, big or little, I just like hanging out with people and playing fun games like Don't Eat Pete were you shout at the person before they eat the M&M. Good times.
It was kind of a rough day at first when we tried to get to the play Frederick at the Chicago Children's Theatre. We thought it was one place and it wasn't, but I called and they re-scheduled us for free to the later time slot. They were so nice and we were kind of flustered so we had frozen yogurt for breakfast. Delicious.
What I love: I love that one of my favorite books was made in to a play. If you haven't read Leo Lionni's, Frederick you should go here and buy it. Today was a Frederick kind of day. Also, I ate ice cream for breakfast.
What I love: I love the smell of leaves and the yellow I see all over the city. Most popular fall color this season in the city among trees has got to be yellow.
What I love: I really just love riding the train. I love how tough and cool I feel and how comfortable I've become navigating this complex network of public transit.
What I love: I'm not a huge fan of the yellow glow coming off the street lamps, but it is kind of poetic in this image. I'm grateful for the warm sunny days I enjoyed just a month ago. Also, I'm still going at 300 days! Only 65 more to go!
Anyone else love that my seal helped me quickly take pictures.
Today was such a beautiful day.
What I love: I love this day. I got out of work early because parent-teacher conferences were on Thursday and I met the husband in the park. The walk there was beautiful and I found him sitting in a tree in the park and tried to climb up there to meet him. I think some lady took a picture of us because we looked so silly arguing around the tree trunk.
So the husband introduced me to this new song and I'm kind of obsessed, which happens like every time I hear a new song that I love.
This one is called pressure and it's about diamonds. So I looked up what an uncut diamond looks like. Guys, it's kind of boring. It's just a transparent rock.
What I love: I love that I feel like this uncut rock in pretty much all aspects of my life, but if you cut it the right way, it becomes this incredible shining stone. I kind of feel like that's Chicago. Chicago knows just the right place to cut so I can shine.
Another abstract painting where I leave you to ponder what I'm feeling. But seriously, sometimes I feel like these giant jaws closing around me when I spend another day at work...all day.
What I love: Having a job and the kids I work with. I can't give up on them now, even when I feel like this.
Oh, hi there. I know I go weeks and weeks without doing this, but it's almost the end of the year and I refuse to stop on my New's Year's Resolution now!
What I love: This is hard one. I worked all day today and it was just hard. So I love these dots. I love how free they made me feel painting them. Also, I love my seal poking out behind my painting.
