What I love: That I have learned a lot being here. Also, notice that this building has pretty old architecture while the building next to it is pretty modern. Chicago is just like that.
Sometimes husbands join in the painting session and show you up.
What I love: I have tried so many new things since being here. We went out for Pho with some friends and it was DELICIOUS! I'm loving Vietnamese food and going new places in the city. Also, I love that the husband sat down and painted with me. He's talented in so many ways and I love him. You may now proceed to barf at our cuteness.
Last day of work for a friend so we went out to eat.
Not my best painting, but it's a painting.
What I love: The quaint little pizza buffet I went to today. I normally hate buffets, but this one was just salad, 4 different kinds of pizza, spaghetti, and macaroni and cheese. It was nice. Most of all though, I got to hang out with the other long-term sub in the building on her last day of work. Man, I'm going to miss her!
What I love: I had lost all hope that spring would come and then all of a sudden there are leaves on trees and it's still kind of cool, but I went outside without a jacket on today and I feel tike that's progress.
What I love: Spending time with friends and teaching lessons to kids. Today's lesson was based on drawing their favorite animal. We broke down a dog into basic shapes.
What I love: That there's at least one day in the year where we showing women appreciation for all their hard work. I love that it's an excuse to show a little bit of love and the city of Chicago showed a little love this last Sunday. :)
One day I'll catch up, but spring is coming...maybe? Can you see it in the reflection?
What I love: Driving home from work and getting excited about Dandelions. I forgot that plants actually grew here. Also, I love that all of sudden there are people! I wonder where they all came from, but there are so many more people around than there were this winter.
Drawing lessons didn't happen today, but Blogilates and Chipotle did. :) This is what I would have had her do had we actually done it, but with pencil.
What I love: That this project has made me create again. I'm stretching myself further than I ever have and it's exciting.
We went to Jump On It and it was fun! This was not Jump On It, but the British School across the street has some pretty cool architecture.
What I Love: What is not to love about giant inflatable slides and obstacles courses. Also, loving the fact that it was a free date night and we got to pretend we were parents, but without all the responsibility. Then we got to go to Noodles & Company with our pretend child.
Another month has gone by and I've painted all these paintings/drawings. The fact that I'm still going still amazes me. I wasn't the best at it in April, but May is a new month and I'll try a littler harder. I think I may have started not hating this place.
